Corriboard Chest
A local councillor saw my bike basket and invited me to share some corriboard crafting techniques in workshop form as part of this month's Auckland Ecofest. To prepare for the event, i decided to build another box, since it's been so long. This one would be a chest to replace my overflowing bag of sewing fabric.
Mark mark, cut cut, zip zip, hey presto!

Like my bike baskets, i built it with 5mm-thick corriboard joined by cable ties but also added a lid, handles, and elastic fasteners.

Capatious at 500mm x 300mm x 340mm, but just small enough to fit on the shelf. Pro tip: measure ahead of time.

Still using discarded signs from the 2021 Aotearoa Bike Challenge. Spent political signs work too, but they're flimsy these days, so you better double them up.

Nothing wrong with a bit of bulge.

Rounded side cutouts for easy handling.

And low-tech fastener fastening.
There you have it, folks. You too can bang together a useful chest from plastic trash in an afternoon. Or if you're more ambitious, a boat.
